Feeling good during pregnancy

For years I've been devoted to yoga and pilates. For the first few months of my pregnancy I took it easy and didn't do much exercise. Now I'm just loving getting back into the swing of things and do prenatal yoga and pilates most days.

Pilates on an exercise ball is just fantastic, really good for the hips and back as my body changes. Stretching in yoga positions is great for the mind as well as the body. I just love being able to relax my body and soul in this way.

Sam and I have enjoyed practicing meditation for a number of years now - we're finding it so useful, restful and invigorating to get more and more into this as the birth of our baby draws closer. It's so relaxing for the mind and really pushes away any unwanted worries or feelings.

We also swim most days of the week and are very grateful to be members of the Lido open air pool, which is just down the road from us. After the coldest spring for 50 years, this summer has been absolutely scorching so far! Between 26 and 30 degrees most days for the last month - so the Lido is a real God-send.

The Clifton Lido and The Victoria Public House complex was opened to the public in 1850. It is an English Heritage Grade II listed building. It re-opened in 2008 after a wonderful refurbishment after many years being closed. It is a real haven!

Sam and I went swimming this weekend, it was so relaxing. Sam also felt the baby kicking for the first time which was really lovely!
