Eve's Birthday Weekend

On Friday morning before Sam headed off to work Eve unwrapped a couple of presents from us:

She then had a lovely day at nursery and came home with a card from the staff and children. We were told that they sang Happy Birthday to her as well.

The birthday girl in the little green dress that I bought for her before she was conceived. I used it as positive visualisation and planned for her to wear it on her first birthday.  My dream came true! Thank you...

Presents wrapped in tissue paper went down very well - she enjoyed trying to eat them!

On Saturday we had such a lovely time with friends and family who visited for Eve's birthday party. I had Friday off work and spent the whole day baking and prepping, which was fun, and oh so nice to be at home for a whole day.

My mince pies - with a little help from Sainsbury's puff pastry!

My sister Claire, her boyfriend Jody and their baby Jago arrived early at 10am which was great as we got to spend some time together before they headed down to Cornwall to visit my mum.

Other friends from Bristol and Oxfordshire arrived along with Grandad Col and Jeggsy from Wedmore. The kids amused us whilst we drank mulled wine :-)

Unfortunately Eve needed a nap about 2pm, I had hoped that she'd manage to stay awake for the whole party. When I came downstairs a few people had left, so Daddy and I gave Eve her cake when she woke up after everyone had left. Here's a photo of Daddy and Eve waving at me after they had blown out the candles (yep that's right! my baby brain seemed to forget that I only needed to put 1 candle on the cake but for some unknown reason I stuck 4 in it, whooops!)

Eve is a very lucky girl and was given some lovely presents. She's been rather delighted playing with new stickle bricks and mega bloks, a roller bunny, new toys for the bath, a cute pink hat (below) and cool jumper.

Off to The Tobacco Factory on Sunday to see friends who were visiting from Australia

A rather proud Daddy with his girl

Eve really enjoyed playing with some Nino percussion egg shakers that belong to Arthur. They both had a great time in The Tobacco Factory. Think we might have to invest in some of these.  They come in different colours and sizes.

Eve and Arthur, born one week apart - we feel so lucky to have had the Higginson family along with us for the ride throughout this past year. Arthur's Mummy Ocky has been fantastic - I'm not sure what I'd have done without her!

We finished off the weekend with bath-time fun - Eve loves playing with her new a floating Octopus from Granny T and a spinning duck from James and Michelle.  She loves blowing raspberries back at me at the moment!!
