20 Week Scan - it's a Girl!

20 weeks - 22.07.2013

Yesterday we had our 20 week scan. The sonographer measured our baby and checked her vital organs. We saw her face close up, she looks like she has Sam's cupid bow lips.

It was magical to see our baby again and to know that she growing bigger and stronger and that everything is going well. We feel blessed to have the use of the NHS and are really happy to know that we'll be having a baby girl in December.

We have already chosen her name, and will enjoy getting to know her better over the next few months!

I only have two male cousins on the Bates side of the family - the rest are girls. I wonder if this pattern will continue?

Baby F's first gig!

On Friday 28th June we went to Silverstone where Daddy Frenic played to the Formula 1 crowd at the official campsite next to the race track. Think this was the fourth or fifth year in a row that he has had the amazing opportunity of playing at this great event.

Frenic aka Dad played to hyped crowds of over 6000 people. It was loud, exciting and energy fuelled - needless to say, Baby F seemed to be going quite crazy inside me, so I stood at the back of the crowd for the second half of the set. Frenic has a big following at the Formula 1 - his fans went absolutely mad for the music and his performance!

Feeling baby's first light kicks

Since Sunday 7th July I've been feeling what I think are baby's first light kicks. I've felt things all through my pregnancy but of course it's tricky to know what.

This feeling is a bit different though so I'm pretty sure! I can't wait for our baby's kicks to grow stronger so that Daddy F can feel them too. 2 weeks to go until the 5 month point.

A photo of me at 16 weeks - you can just see my baby bump under my life jacket!
